How to create a real estate website: 7 steps to go live

Quick answer

Here is how to create a real estate website in three stages: gather your logo, strong photos, a listings spreadsheet, short copy and license details; build the site on a ready-made platform, with listings, a style and SEO; then publish on a subdomain or your own domain. On Realtorsfy, building is free and publishing starts at $49.90/mo.

How to create a real estate website without writing code comes down to three moves: gather the right material, build on a ready-made platform and publish once the preview looks right. Hosting, SSL and updates stay with the platform; the timeline depends on your material.

This guide follows that order: what to prepare, the seven steps inside Realtorsfy, a prelaunch checklist and your first week live. If you're still deciding what a good site needs, start with our complete real estate website guide.

What to gather before you start

Before you open the panel, collect five things: your logo, strong photos, a listings spreadsheet, short copy and your license details.

Item What to prepare Why
Logo Light and dark background versions, in high resolution Some styles are dark, like Noir, and some are light, like Solar
Photos Landscape shots with good light, in walkthrough order They are what buyers see first
Listings spreadsheet Sale or rent, price, address, square footage, suites, parking and the URL of each photo Lets you import your inventory at once
Copy A short bio, service areas, specialties and a description for each listing Feeds your pages and search fields
License details Brokerage name, state of licensure and any license number your state requires in ads Your website is advertising

Lead each gallery with your best shot and drop anything dark or crooked; our guide to luxury real estate leads explains why presentation carries so much weight with high-end buyers. If your photos are already online, put each image URL in the spreadsheet: the import accepts that format. In listing copy, describe the property, not the buyer you picture, because fair housing rules cover the words and photos in your ads.

NAR's Code of Ethics requires REALTOR® firm websites to disclose the firm's name and state of licensure, and some states add rules of their own; our real estate website guide covers both, plus fair housing. If you own a domain, have your registrar login handy. If not, register one to your brokerage, not to a vendor.

Steps 1 to 3: account, listings and style

The first three steps build the site at no cost: on Realtorsfy, your card only comes in when you decide to publish.

1. Create a free account and reserve your address

The account is free, needs no card, and your address in the format youragency.realtorsfy.com is reserved right away. While you build, only you can see the preview, and the panel works in English and Portuguese. The site is yours alone: each subscriber has their own address and database, and visitors see only your portfolio, with your brand. To start, create your free account.

2. Add or import your listings

Every listing gets its own page with a gallery, spec sheet, map and inquiry form. In the panel, photos, details and price sit on one screen; each listing stays a draft or goes live, and one click publishes. Once your inventory is in, the site gets search by city or neighborhood, portal-style filters, a map, favorites and a side-by-side comparison of area, suites, parking and price.

  • Sale or rent. Mark it on each listing. Rentals show per month or per night, and visitors filter by sale or rent.
  • Large inventory. Use the CSV spreadsheet import: it brings in listings with photos by image URL and takes your past leads too.

3. Pick a style and adjust colors and fonts

Each style is a complete site, with its own type, palette and way of showing photos. Realtorsfy has 8, and switching never deletes listings, copy or photos.

Style Look Demo
Noir Deep black, gold and a classic serif Noir demo
Solar A daylight gallery with fine frames Solar demo
Reserva Earth tones, textures and an expressive serif Reserva demo
Atlântico Deep blue and beams of light Atlântico demo
Aurora Glass over an aurora, floating cards Aurora demo
Névoa Pale mist and milky panels Névoa demo
Prisma Dark glass facets Prisma demo
Papel Editorial grid, spec always in view Papel demo

Open two or three demos with your own listings in mind, not this year's trend. Then adjust colors and fonts in the panel until the site matches your brand. The full collection is on the templates page.

Steps 4 and 5: contact, SEO and tracking

Steps 4 and 5 tell visitors how to reach you and tell Google who you are.

4. Fill in WhatsApp, Search (SEO) and Location

If you take inquiries on WhatsApp, add the number: once filled in, it shows on your site's contact page. Then complete Search (SEO) and Location in the panel. Your address, coordinates, service areas and specialties become your brokerage's structured data, the format search engines read.

Every listing already ships with a title, description and structured data, and the site has a sitemap. Still, review your titles: type, neighborhood and main feature, like “Oceanfront home in La Jolla”, say more than an ID number. 5. Connect tracking if you run ads

If you advertise, connect tracking before you publish so you measure from the first visit. In the panel, with no code, you can add the Meta Pixel (with the Conversions API via token), Google Analytics 4, Google Ads (with a conversion label), LinkedIn Insight, TikTok Pixel and Amazon Ads. No ads yet? Skip this step.

Before your first campaign, agree with whoever runs your ads on which action counts as a conversion, such as a listing form submission. That way your ads and your CRM count the same thing.

Steps 6 and 7: publish and connect your domain

Publishing is where a plan comes in; your own domain can follow the same day or later.

6. Review the preview and pick a plan

Before you publish, walk through the preview like a buyer: run a search, open listings, check the contact page. Then publish and choose a plan. Realtorsfy prices by portfolio size, in published listings, and the site is the same on every plan: every style, a gallery and spec sheet on each listing, leads with in-panel alerts, a CRM pipeline, privacy pages ready for CCPA/CPRA and LGPD, hosting, SSL and updates, with no add-ons.

Monthly billing starts at $49.90/mo. Yearly billing is 20% off:

Plan Published listings Billed yearly
Essential up to 10 $39.92/mo ($479.04 a year)
Professional up to 25 $79.20/mo ($950.40 a year)
Signature up to 60 $215.20/mo ($2,582.40 a year)
Corporate up to 150 $479.20/mo ($5,750.40 a year)
Custom 151 or more $3.12 per listing/mo, minimum $471.12 a month

Choose by the number of listings that will be live: drafts don't take a slot, so you can add everything and decide later what to publish. There's no lock-in, you can request a full refund from the panel within 7 days of payment, and moving up a plan is one click, with the difference prorated onto your next invoice. Details are on the plans page. Prefer to see your site before deciding? Build your preview for free with your listings.

7. Point your own domain

A custom domain works on every plan and is set up at the registrar where you bought it:

  1. Create a CNAME record with the name www and the value sites.realtorsfy.com.
  2. The domain goes through validation.
  3. Once validated, the SSL certificate is issued and renews automatically, with no downtime.

Your youragency.realtorsfy.com address keeps working, so links you've already shared still open.

Prelaunch checklist

Check in the preview what most often slips in the rush:

  • Every live listing has strong photos, a price, sale or rent marked and a full spec sheet.
  • Nothing sold or rented is live, and anything awaiting a signed agreement stays a draft.
  • Your brokerage name and state of licensure appear in your site copy, plus whatever your state requires.
  • Your WhatsApp number, if you use one, is right on the contact page.
  • Search (SEO) and Location are filled in.
  • Your pixels are in place if you advertise.
  • You've read the built-in privacy policy, terms and cookie notice, along with the data subject portal.
  • Your plan covers the listings going live.

Your first week live

In week one, the job shifts from building to responding: answer fast and learn where each lead came from.

When What to do
Day 1 Open the site on your phone and send an inquiry through a listing form to watch it reach the CRM
Day 1 Update the link in your social bios, email signature and Google Business Profile
Day 2 Import your past leads and add the site to Google Search Console, with the sitemap
Every day Open the panel at set times and answer every new lead the same day

New-lead alerts show up in the panel, which is why set times matter. Every lead from the site lands in the CRM with the listing they asked about, the source of the visit and a consent record, so your first reply can name the right property. Drag each card through the pipeline as the conversation moves; our guide to choosing a real estate CRM explains why speed to lead matters so much.

On day 7, compare lead sources with what you did: the channel that produced real conversations deserves more of your time next week.

If your material is ready, create your free account and build the site with your own listings. You'll see everything in the preview and choose a plan only when you decide to publish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create a real estate website for free?

You can build one for free, but publishing takes a plan. On Realtorsfy, you create an account with no card, add listings, pick a style and see the preview without paying. Going live starts at $49.90/mo on monthly billing, or $39.92/mo billed yearly on the Essential plan, which covers up to 10 published listings.

How long does it take to create a real estate website?

With your material ready, the three core steps fit in an afternoon: create the account, add your listings and pick a style. Gathering photos, copy and listing details is what usually takes longest. For a large inventory, the spreadsheet import shortens data entry, and you can connect your own domain after launch.

Do I need a developer to build a real estate website?

No. On Realtorsfy, listings, photos, style, colors, fonts, WhatsApp, SEO and tracking all live in the panel, with no code. The most technical part is a custom domain, and that comes down to one CNAME record at your registrar, named www with the value sites.realtorsfy.com. The SSL certificate is issued and renewed automatically.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on every plan. Create a CNAME record at your registrar with the name www and the value sites.realtorsfy.com. After validation, the SSL certificate is issued and renewed automatically, with no downtime, and your youragency.realtorsfy.com address keeps working.

Can I change the look of my site later?

Yes, whenever you want. The 8 styles are complete sites, and switching changes the presentation without deleting listings, copy or photos. Colors and fonts adjust in the panel too, so you can launch with one style and change it as your brand grows.
